Due to economic globalization, information technology emergency, the growth of Internet and other communication networks, the diversity of business transaction growth and increased competition, the company changed the way they communicate with new processes that sharpen business performance. Internet becomes the basis for new business models, processes and new ways of distribution of knowledge (Laudon KC and JP Laudon, 2000).
Small businesses are now using the internet and network technology to conduct more of their work electronically, connecting reliable factories, offices and sales forces around the world (Dave C. 2000). Governed by the evolution of communication infrastructure and service convergence is applied to the integrated applications (HC Lucas and B. Jack, 1994). Convergence of information technology is an important trend that affects both current and future markets, industry and technology (James, AO, 2004). Companies such as shops, banks and institutions interviewed, extending these networks to suppliers, customers and other groups outside the organization to enable them to respond directly to customer demands and market changes.
No doubt, bring a change in the information technology organization that made the company even more dependent than in the past when it depends only on learning, knowledge and decision making of individual employees. In addition, customer service, operations, products and marketing strategies, and distribution are strongly dependent on information technology (Brain K and C Stacey, 2001).
This research work examines the impact of information technology on the economy of small businesses. This is to ensure that the rate at which information technology has transformed business processes and applications to specific, efficient business management, reduction in crime rates, job creation and improve the security of information systems. This will help provide the right kind of information at the right time for optimal utilization of available resources to improve the quality of life in human society.
